Common problems

MCP server isn't available

The Mailrelay login page shows an error when connecting

The MCP server isn't enabled for your account yet.

Fix: request beta access from support, then connect again.

403 insufficientscope <p class="mcp-cardtitle">The assistant says it isn't allowed, or a tool is missing

That permission wasn't granted when you connected.

Fix: remove the connector, add it again and grant the permission you need.

<p class="mcp-card_title">The assistant asks you to log in again

Fix: reconnect from your assistant's connector settings.

Frequently asked

Do I need an API key?

No. You log in to Mailrelay and approve the connection. API keys are only needed for direct API calls.

Can the assistant send campaigns without asking?

Only if you granted the Send permission. Without it, the assistant can only prepare drafts.

Whose name appears on actions?

The Mailrelay user who approved the connection.

Can I limit access to one group or campaign?

Not yet. Permissions apply to a whole area, such as Contacts or Email campaigns.

Which assistants are supported?

Any assistant that supports remote MCP servers with OAuth, such as ChatGPT, Claude, Claude Code and VS Code.
